Perfection is Overrated

My sister Emily and I had a conversation last night about perfection in the Blogosphere. You know, all the blogs you read where people eat better, dress better, decorate better, read more, do more, live more than you do?

I was going to write a post about it but then I read this one and really couldn't think of a better way to say it.

I'm still trying to live in a way that is as fun and interesting and inspiring as possible but not while I'm watching the girl next to me. Or her blog.

I feel the same way about the blogging world. So many of those great decor blogs make me what to run out and refurnish my house.

P.S. I really like your blog.

I couldn't have said it better, either. And then, not just what people write, but how they write. It's not a competition, and yet...

I've had this conversation before! It's hard not to feel like a loser and have your self esteem take a nose dive when you're reading these blogs that seem to portray some perfect life...I for one appreciate a little real mixed in with all the pretty.

p.s. i heart veeda and k8

Whatever. I couldn't possibly understand. My life is perfect. I am perfection.

Now I need to shower because it's after noon and then I will catch up on some tivo instead of sitting out by the beach.

The funniest thing, to me, is that even as other people write about this, I'm thinking, "they even make there insecurities and weaknesses look good." Why am I like that?
